TWAS November 23

Hello Everyone,

I hope everyone's had a good week.  It sounds like Christmas is in the air for a lot of families and the children are getting so excited.  There have been a lot of requests for Christmas books in our classroom library, and talk about decorations starting to go up at home.  It is such an exciting time of year for so many of them! Even with all of this excitement though, they worked so hard this week.  I am very proud of them; they are so excited by their learning and are up for any challenge that comes their way.  This week's art is still a work in progress so pictures will come next week.  It is the first piece that will be going on our mobiles.  Thanks so much to everyone who was able to send in a hanger and extras as well.  I think we have enough for everyone so will begin "all about me" construction next week!

* This upcoming week is our Hip Hop Dance residency.  Our class will be showcasing their learning Friday at 9:40 am.  Families are welcome to come to the Friday performance.

Letters from 'Dell'


Hello Artist,


My name is Dell.  Can you draw a picture of me ?  I am a beautiful creature.  I have a round body and a triangle head.  I have 3 beautiful green eyes with long black eye lashes.  I have 5 red polka dots inside my round body.  I have two long skinny legs with one foot on each leg.  Some people say my feet look like duck feet but I disagree!  One foot has 3 toes.  The other foot has four toes.  I have four squiqqly arms coming out of my round body with three skinny fingers on the end of each arm.  My final and best feature is my long black curly hair.  It stands straight up from the top of my head in a Y shape!  Oh and I have a big blue smile (did I mention that I’m blue?).  Have fun . . . I can’t wait to see how you draw me J

Hi Everyone, I hope you've all had a great week! Wow — we had some fantastic Arctic Animal and Passion Project presentations this week!  Way to go students.  We're really looking forward to some more next week! We've been having fun with our learning here in Cranston School but really really want the weather to start cooperating so that we can be having even more fun with our learning outside of the school!! TWAS Sept. 28

Hello Everyone, I hope you've all had a great week; I honestly can't believe it is Friday.  It's only the end of September and already we need more minutes in our days! We had a fantastic Terry Fox run; the weather was perfect and it was great to have some families and Dr. George students out there cheering us on! Thanks also to those that were able to make it out to the family picnic; it was such a lovely way to spend a lunch hour. For those that weren't able, we'll try for another in the spring. This week in math, we working with movement and sound patterns (so much fun) and have been working on using math tools and showing our thinking when answering math problems.  We worked on the following math problems today and it's a very tricky one so if you have time over the weekend it would be worth a review: In January I wore red shoes. Happy Summer!!

Hello Everyone, It seems like such a very short time ago that I was writing hello.  I really can't express what an amazing year this has been.  Working with your children brought so much joy to my every day.  We had so much fun and it was so wonderful watching all of their growth over the year.  I know that each and every one of them is going to do so well in grade 3 and can't wait to hear all about it when we finally meet up again at George!  I have told the children that I will upload their assembly video and our class slideshow into their IRIS accounts.  They are both too large, currently, but once I have them condensed and uploaded I will let you know and will provide you with access instructions.  Likewise, as soon as I hear from Annick Press publishing I will let you know what their feedback is!!
